Blending Function and Charm: A Perfect Balance for a Historic Home Renovation
The goal of this beautiful home renovation was to create a more functional floor plan for hosting, while restoring the home’s full potential in both glamour and character.
Wyn Design Co. reimagined the layout by adding a powder room, reorganizing the ground floor stairway off the foyer, designing a show-stopping kitchen, and opening up the back exterior wall with a three-panel sliding door to access a spacious new upper deck.
Despite these modern innovations, the focus was on preserving and highlighting the home’s historic charm and its original build date of 1912. Custom kitchen cabinetry, refinished parquet flooring, new trim and molding throughout, along with exquisite marble and stone detailing, blur the lines between what’s original and what’s new—except for a few bold touches, like the tropical wallcovering in the powder room.
The furniture and decor were carefully selected to harmonize with the updated interior architecture, letting both the charm and layout shine.
